Jon “DRJ” Najarian, Co-Founder

Jon ‘DRJ’ Najarian was linebacker for the Chicago Bears before he turned to another kind of contact sport – trading on the Chicago Board Options Exchange.

 

He became a member of the CBOE, NYSE, CME and CBOT and worked as a floor trader for some 25 years. In 1990 he founded Mercury Trading, a market-making firm at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), which he sold in 2004 to Citadel, one of the world’s largest hedge funds. In 2005 Jon co-founded optionMONSTER and tradeMONSTER – both were acquired in 2014 by private equity firm General Atlantic Partners. Today, he is a professional investor, money manager and media analyst.

 

Jon developed and patented trading applications and algorithms used to identify unusual activity in stock, options, and futures markets. optionMONSTER, an options news and education site, was described by Securities Industry News as “content king of the options business”.

 

For years tradeMONSTER has been rated “Best for Options Traders” by Barron’s and was the first online broker to deploy streaming, desktop-like trading in a web browser.

 

In 2016 Jon and Pete co-founded Najarian Advisors, a company advising institutional investors on options strategies.

 

The brothers invest in and work with start-ups via Rebellion Partners, a venture consulting firm they launched in 2015.

 

Jon can be seen weekly on CNBC, where he is cast member of the “Halftime Report” and the “Fast Money” show.  He is also the feature of the “DRJ Report” on CBOE-TV, the exchange’s popular webcast.

Pete Najarian, Co-Founder

Pete Najarian, the “Pit Boss,” was ranked one of the top 100 traders by Trader Monthly magazine and in 2005 co-founded, together with his brother Jon “DRJ” Najarian, optionMONSTER, an options news and education firm, and tradeMONSTER, a leading online brokerage firm. Both were acquired in 2014 by private equity firm General Atlantic Partners.

 

Following a football career that included several seasons with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings, Najarian took up options trading in 1992 joining his brother, Jon, at Mercury Trading, a market-making firm at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). Two years later, he assumed responsibility for Mercury’s risk and arbitrage and later led its entry onto the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

 

He also led Mercury’s joint venture with M.J. Meehan, the third-largest specialist firm on the NYSE. From 2000 to 2004, Najarian served as president of Mercury, and helped execute its sale to Citadel, one of the world’s largest hedge funds.

 

Before starting optionMONSTER, he has been a founding member of One Chicago, an electronic exchange committed to becoming the global leader in futures on individual stocks, narrow-based indexes, and ETFs. He is also the Co-Founder of Hedgehog stock, options, and futures trading platform and together with brother Jon, co-developed the Heat Seeker™ and complementary programs identifying unusual buying activity in stocks, options, and futures.

 

In 2016 Pete and his brother Jon co-founded Najarian Advisors, a company advising institutional investors on options strategies.

Pete graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in physiology.

Brian Zalewski, Managing Partner & Co-Founder

The entirety of Brian Zalweski’s nearly two-decade career has been devoted to asset and wealth management. Most recently he served as Senior Vice-President for UBS Wealth Management. Prior to that he served as Vice-President Wealth Management for Morgan Stanley, and in the Asset Management Division at Goldman Sachs. His deep experience and dedication to serving in his clients’ best interests has earned him universal acclaim from clients for providing unbiased and effective counsel as a Personal Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

 

More than just contributing to the growth of his client portfolios, Brian is also passionate about contributing philanthropically. He has served as a board member of the American Heart Association since 2009, and remains active in fundraising for the United Service Organizations (USO) to support the men and women of our Armed Forces. Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, sailing, tennis, and mountain biking.

 

Brian graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in Finance & Economics.

Dirk Mueller-Ingrand, Co-Founder

Dirk is an entrepreneur with 29 years of experience in the fields of global banking & brokerage, trading technology, corporate finance, and financial education.  He is an active investor and has co-founded and/or served as either an executive or board member of several startup companies across three continents – Europe, Africa and North America.

 

In his early career Dirk developed and managed a training program on option and futures on behalf of a German bank from 1989-1992. He then co-founded in 1992 Technosis AG, a treasury and risk management platform.

As founder and Managing Director of consulting firm LTR Ltd, Dirk conducted from 1995-1999 corporate research and due diligence in Europe, Africa and the US on behalf of corporate clients including well-known British industrialist and corporate activist “Tiny” Rowland. During that period he served as an advisor on mining issues to several Southern African governments and was an expert witness in two merger cases before the court of the European Commission on behalf of Mr. Rowland.

 

From 1999-2007, working on behalf of the R.W. Rowland Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Dirk built and managed one of the largest leadership development programs in the SADC region in cooperation with Standard Bank of South Africa.

 

In 2005 Dirk later partnered with Jon and Pete Najarian to co-found their own investor education and media company optionMONSTER and sister online trading company tradeMONSTER with Dirk serving as co-founder/CEO. Under his leadership, both companies achieved renown for the quality of content offered and innovation. optionMONSTER gained a reputation as the leader for option education and tradeMONSTER was the first online broker to deploy streaming, desktop-like trading in a web browser and rated “Best for Options Traders” by Barron’s for numerous years running, prior to both companies being sold to General Atlantic in 2014.

 

Recently Dirk has co-founded Najarian Family Office and Investitute, an investor education company.

 

Together with Jon and Pete Najarian he invests in and works with start-ups via Rebellion Partners, a venture consulting firm they launched in 2015. Dirk earned an MA (Dipl.-Kfm) in General Business Administration and Finance with a focus in Banking & Corporate Finance from the University of Hamburg, Germany.

Pearl Manieri, Head of Operations and Trading

As Head of Operations and Trading, Pearl is responsible for all aspects of operations and trading at the firm. She is a strategic leader who has over 27 years of financial industry experience. Before joining Najarian Family Office Pearl was a Vice President of Implementations and Project Management at Northern Trust.

 

She started her career in 1988 on the Pacific Options floor (PCX) working for Pershing DLJ’s trade desk and eventually rose to become a market maker for TD Securities.

 

In 2004, she joined E*TRADE Securities where she performed several diverse roles including managing foreign corporate client accounts, FX trading, options risk management, as well as serving as a senior project manager for the operations team. She maintained the “top contributor” designation there year after year.

 

In 2007, Pearl joined tradeMONSTER to assist in the retail brokerage platform build and was a key contributor to its on-time launch and success. She served as the Director of Operations to several high performance teams, such as Risk, Margins, Cashiering, AML / Fraud, and Account Opening to name a few.

 

Pearl holds a B.A. degree from DePaul University and is FINRA 7, 3, 4, 24, 55, and 63 licensed.

Arielle Choyce, Relationship Manager

As Relationship Manager, Arielle Choyce is dedicated to providing day-to-day support and coordination for Najarian Family Office clients. She gained experience for the role having most recently served as a Client Service Associate for UBS Financial Services, Inc.

 

Arielle is FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licensed. She graduated from University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in English.
